MYM profile visibility: prepare your account for discovery

Public posts can introduce your account to new people. Prepare the profile, choose the right media and diagnose the obstacle without inventing algorithm rules.

Dylan M.

To improve MYM profile visibility, start with what someone can actually see before subscribing. The account needs to be ready, public posts should communicate your style, and the page should give visitors a reason to join. That preparation makes the offer easier to discover and understand. It does not give you control over the recommendation feed.

The process

Check profile access, select coherent public media, review the final display and observe a series of posts. Treat distribution and offer clarity as separate problems.

Understand what MYM discovery can do

MYM can show public photos in a personalized feed. Different users therefore see different content. Your own feed is not a ranking checker for your account: failing to see a particular photo there does not demonstrate that nobody else can see it.

For media intended for discovery, focus on the practical requirements: public access, non-explicit content, good image quality and no text or emoji added to the image. Account activity is also part of the stated promotion criteria. Those conditions do not specify guaranteed distribution or a guaranteed timetable.

Avoid turning one observation into a rule. “Tuesday’s photo did better” does not establish that Tuesday is the best day for every account. The subject, framing, available audience and your other promotional work may have changed at the same time.

Check the page before changing your posts

Open the profile on a phone and check the basics: completed verification, a recognizable username, a clear photo, a coherent cover and a specific bio. Review visibility settings you have deliberately chosen, too. A privacy choice can restrict access; understand the tradeoff before changing it.

Ask someone you trust to describe the offer in their own words. If they can only say “photos,” your profile probably needs a clearer explanation of the creative angle, subscription content and separately priced media. The MYM bio examples provide a short structure you can adapt.

Compare your promise with the latest posts. A bio offering regular behind-the-scenes updates feels inconsistent if the page contains only old finished portraits. Before chasing more visitors, bring the profile into line with the experience you can actually deliver now.

Choose public media that says something

A useful preview does not need to reveal everything. It should make your style recognizable. Prepare three types: a portrait or scene that introduces the account, a preview of an available set and a moment from production. That gives you variety without changing your identity with every post.

Introduce your style

Choose a simple image with a clear subject. People should understand it at a small size without inspecting a crowded background. Keep the lighting and treatment consistent with the subscriber content.

Preview a set

Show something representative of media people can actually access. Avoid a promotional image that promises a mood or format missing from the subscription. Discovery creates an expectation the profile must then meet.

Show the preparation

A styling choice, set detail or moment before a shoot can bring variety to public content. Choose a frame that works on its own. A blurry equipment photo is not automatically interesting because it was taken behind the scenes.

Make the selection before posting. Three distinct images from one shoot give you more to learn from than three almost identical crops. Keep unused variants in your library instead of publishing them all consecutively simply because they are ready.

Use a review sheet for each post

This checklist catches issues you can fix. It is an editorial review, not an algorithm score. Check each point before publishing, then verify the media’s final status in the platform. Keep the original file available in case the wrong version was selected.

Test a coherent series instead of a magic formula

Choose a working period, such as two weeks, and a posting pace your library supports. Prepare several images from the same creative direction, then vary one identifiable feature: a closer portrait, a wider scene or a preparation detail. Keep the offer and bio stable during the test.

Record reactions and the data actually available on your account. Add new subscriptions and any external promotion that happened that day. If you also launched a collaboration, note it. Growth cannot automatically be credited to the latest public photo when other things changed too.

At the end, keep formats that appear to attract interest and are practical to produce again. If the sample is too small, observe for longer. One subscription is not enough to declare a winning format. Use the MYM content calendar to plan the next series without losing track of what was tested.

Identify the obstacle before changing strategy

  • The post is not accessible as expected: check its status and settings. An access issue needs an account check, not a new slogan.
  • Public media receives little interest: review image selection and the clarity of your style. Rebuilding the entire paid library is not the first action.
  • The profile attracts attention without subscriptions: examine the offer, available content and questions about the price.
  • Subscriptions arrive but do not last: check what people receive after paying. Work on MYM subscriber retention as well as discovery.

Keep a profile screenshot before a substantial change and record exactly what you changed. You can then review a decision with evidence instead of rewriting the bio and changing the price whenever the account has a quiet day.

Keep the same voice after a fan arrives

The profile, content and conversations should feel consistent. If you use Unly, prepare the personality and media from the same offer. Create my Unly account.
