Let Unly sell your media without chatters and make time for the tax records behind your business. Unly replies to fans and handles sales autonomously, without approval of each message. Record sales, charges and payouts so the amounts can be explained and the applicable filings prepared.
This guide concerns France. Use time freed from chatting to gather records, then confirm the activity classification and tax treatment with the appropriate professional. Start with a complete file rather than only the amount that reached your bank account.

Establish the nature of the activity first
Describe the business without chatters in concrete terms: you produce content and prepare offers; Unly handles conversations and sales. Then explain what the business actually charges for, alongside any other revenue sources.
Selling your own content, promoting a brand for payment and managing other creators’ accounts are not necessarily the same activity. The French Ministry of the Economy distinguishes content creation without commercial influence from promoting goods or services in exchange for a benefit.
Prepare a factual description: what you sell, to whom, under which contracts and alongside which other income. Ask which classification applies instead of copying another creator’s category. The name of the platform alone does not determine the tax regime.
Collect six groups of documents
Create an annual folder with a section for each platform. Retain documents as supplied before preparing your own spreadsheet. A summary is useful when every line can be traced back to its supporting record.
- Sales, subscription and tip statements.
- Charges, commissions, refunds and disputes.
- Initiated payouts and payment references.
- Bank statements and currency conversions.
- Invoices for tools, services and business spending.
- Business registration records and tax or social correspondence.
Do not add fans’ private conversations to a tax file without a specific need. Transaction references and relevant amounts do not require sharing the entire inbox. Use an appropriate channel and limit access to the people handling the file.
Explain differences between platform and bank
Distinguish sales, charges, available earnings and actual payouts. A payment shown at month-end might reach the bank the following month. An adjustment may also concern an earlier sale. Retain both dates and the reference linking them.
Do not automatically subtract every commission from the amount to declare simply because it was withheld before the payout. Have the treatment confirmed for your activity and documents. The guide to reconciling earnings and payouts helps prepare this check.
Separate management expenses from tax deductions
An expense can reduce available cash without being deducted in the same way under every tax regime. The Ministry of the Economy explains that micro-BIC and special-BNC regimes use a flat-rate allowance rather than deducting actual expenses individually from the taxable result.
Keep invoices nevertheless. They support management records and later checks. Have VAT obligations and foreign-currency treatment confirmed as well; neither question can be answered simply by looking at the creator account balance.
Prepare the file throughout the year
French micro-entrepreneur accounting guidance includes receipts records and supporting documents according to the activity. Build a routine for collecting statements, matching payouts and flagging unexplained differences before a full year accumulates.
With Unly, conversations and sales run without a team of chatters while you prepare these records. Keep commercial activity records, subscription documents and commission documents in separate categories. Your adviser can trace them to their originals and reconcile them with platform statements.
